A Photonic Crystal (PC) is an artificially made structural material. The unique property of such material is that it prohibits propagation of electromagnetic waves in all directions. However, with proper designs we can manipulate electromagnetic waves with photonic crystals. In turn, it leads to the fabrication of photonic devices for optical processing.
